The villian of the Mumbai terror attack of November 26, 2008 Mohammad Ajmal
Amir Kasab was on 21st November 2012 (Wednesday ) morning executed in a
top-secret manner, leaving not just Indians but the entire world surprised.
The Pakistan national gunman was hanged in the high-security Yerwada Jail in
Pune early on Wednesday after a four-year-long trial. Kasab, who was being kept
at the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai, was moved to the Yerwada jail earlier on
Sunday night.
Reportedly codenamed ‘Operation X’ and led by Special IG (law and
order) Devan Bharti, the entire process began on November 5 when the President
rejected the mercy plea of Kasab and ended this morning with the terrorist’s
execution.
In a formal announcement made by Maharashtra home minister early at 8:30 am on
Wednesday, RR Patil said, "Kasab's hanging is a tribute to all the 166 people killed
as well as those police officer martyred in the attack."
